I did a quick trip through the south western part of Uganda and came across the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is definitely worth a look and try and stay in the town of Ishasha where you will hang out with the Ugandan army protecting the DRC-Uganda border which is 100 metres away from where you sleep.

Eight Bells
Great family run neighborhood pub located at 89 Fulham High Street, London, Greater London SW6 3JS, United Kingdom. This place had a great atmosphere to it and drinks were all very cheap. Great bar to put your arm around your mate and belt out the classics it has going over the speakers.
The Penthouse
Located at 1 Leicester Square, London WC2H 7NA, United Kingdom on the 6th floor. It has a great view of Big Ben and the London Eye but it is a little too clubby for me. Drinks will run you about 6 pounds and are nothing special. If you are looking to dress up and hit the dance floor, saddle up the elevator to this joint.
The Whitehorse
At 1-3 Parsons Green, London SW6 4UL, United Kingdom, this pub is for the toffy. It is a great looking pub with a dark mahogany finish on everything. We had some great food here but if you want a good day out with the boys this is not the spot for you. We spotted more baby carriages than girls (hard to believe but true), so a great spot for a family but we decided to move on.
Walkabout
Aussies they are everywhere on this planet so instead of fighting it just give up and join them. With two locations one at Temple Station, Temple Place, London WC2R 2PH, United Kingdom and the second at 11 Henrietta Street, London, Greater London WC2E 8PY, United Kingdom. With a huge variety of Kangaroo on the menu this is an Aussie home away from home. They have a great burger and a beer deal that will set you back 6.95£. This place gets a little loose at night so if you are looking to enjoy your feed in peace head there for lunch.
O’neill’s
Located at 33-37 Wardour Street, London W1D 6PU, United Kingdom this is your typical Irish Pub. Food is good and the price of a beer is reasonable for downtown London. With 3 floors to choose from this place was packed on a Sunday night. They serve quite a lot of beers that run from Budweiser to Guiness. It is hard to go wrong with an Irish pub so if you have a short time in London this is an easy choice.
The Live and Let Live Pub
Located at 35-37 North End Road London, Greater London W14 8SZ, United Kingdom this is your typical dodgy pub. With a crowd inside that is less than inviting we only stayed for one pint. A beer ran you about £3.50 but you thought at sometimes it might cost you the rest of the change in your wallet if you weren’t too careful. A fun experience but I don’t think I will be back.
Oktoberfest Pub
Always wanted to cheers a stein in Munich during Oktoberfest but never had the chance? Now Munich is located at 678-680 Fulham Road, London SW6 5SA, United Kingdom. With pork knuckles and bratwurst on the menu this place gives the Oktoberfest experience without the air fare. A great vibe inside with many people in great spirits!
Lockside Lounge
At 75-89 West Yard, Camden Lock Place, Camden Town, Greater London NW1 8AF, United Kingdom. This is a great lounge to meet your friends after a long day in the office; the only problem is you won’t be able to hear your conversations with each other. They had a good selection of beer but for a bunch of boys looking to catch up with each other this is not the spot. As the night went on though and the place filled out the music got the people on the dance floor and it turned out alright.

After the reunion of the family in Sydney we flew out early in the morning to Honiara the capital of the Soloman Islands. The small airport was a sign of things to come as you could see the infrastructure just was not there. The three boys took the first cab and we got an early taste of the hostilities on the island. Our driver pointed out all Chinese owned shops on the island and all the ones they burned during the last riot (we got the feeling they were not the favourite people on the island). We later learned that a lot the conflict came from the money being earned on the island was not staying there to re invest and was going overseas.
The next surprise was finding out the island we were on was Guadalcanal the scene of the biggest fighting between the Japanese and US during WWII. I am not the biggest history buff so I am not going to stand here and lie to you and say I knew that before watching The Pacific (which was in so many ways inferior to Band of Brothers). But since I had watched the series I had an idea of the significance of the tiny island in the South Pacific. We visited the US memorial which had views of the major battle fields and then drove out to see some old canons and planes left from the war. As for ranking other WWII sites I have visited this has to rank on the lower end but that is probably just my naivety on the happenings on the island. All I know is I was drenched in sweat in my tiny shorts and b-ball jersey and I couldn’t imagine running around in army fatigues.

The alarm buzzed and it was time for Will and I to drag our hungover bodies out of bed. Took a taxi to the airport and we boarded our flight to Queenstown. We went to go rent our car and we were both surprised they still gave it to us after our comments of finding out we had full insurance, which included “well now we can really smash up the car” from me and “I really dinged up the last rental car I had” from Will. We checked in at the hostel and then drove to the top of Coronet Ski field to have a look. We then drove to Arrowtown for some adult beverages then up the lake to Glenorchy. We got back into Queenstown and started to really get into the party. We cruised around town buying round after round until it was time to pull the shoot on the night as we had a long drive the next day.
We set off at 9 in the morning after a mandatory McDonalds breakfast for Milford Sound. It was a great drive out through the mountain ranges and 4 hours later we reached our destination. We got on our boat and did a tour of Milford Sound and checked out all the waterfalls and sights it had to offer. I had wanted to do this trip ever since I watched the snowboard movie That’s It That’s All where they did a helicopter shot over the fjords. The cruise was amazing and I strongly recommend it to anyone going to New Zealand. We finished up the cruise and took our time getting back to Queenstown with a few look out spots and swimming holes. A great night of pool and beers rounded off our Sunday night on our successful trip down to Queenstown. Then 12 hours later I was back at work wondering where my weekend had gone.

Coming across the border into Israel I was blown away by the beautiful border guards. I was pulled aside for questioning and all I wanted to do was ask for this girl’s number, I didn’t of course as I am alive and still writing you posts. In Israel women have to join the army for 2 years and men for 3 years and you start at 18. Everywhere you look you can see a gorgeous lady holding a massive machine gun (super sexy!). The only question I have for the Israeli government now is where can I sign up?

This site really blew me away, it was just voted one of the 7 wonders of the world and I agree with that. The massive structures that they built out of stone are out of this world. It was hard to believe that Indiana Jones found the Holy Grail here just 70 years ago. On a busy day Petra gets over 7000 visitors, I was one of 200 people there on the day I went. I wandered for hours with only the ruins and the views for company. It was a scorcher for a day so of course there was no dry underwear by the end of it. Here are some pictures from my day.
